Collection of personal information in relation to Online Wills
Ivy Law Group will receive, collect, and store personal information or personal data you enter onto our website, provide to us directly or give to us in other forms.
We may collect additional information at other times, including, without limitation, when you provide feedback, when you provide information about your personal or business affairs, change your content or email preference, respond to surveys and/or promotions, provide financial or credit card information, or communicate with our customer support.
Information collected by us when completing your Online Will may also consist of ‘sensitive information’ as a sub-category of personal information. Sensitive information may consist of information relating to someone’s opinion, individual racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, health information (including information relating to your physical and mental health, notes on symptoms, diagnosis, disability, and treatment) and other health-related information. We are required to obtain such information in relation to your Will and where it may be relevant specific to any burial wishes, powers of attorney, guardianships and more. Should you not wish to disclose this information to us, we will be unable to provide you with our services.
Once we are no longer legally obligated or contractually engaged by you to obtain or retain information, we are legally required to retain any information obtained from you in relation to your legal matter for seven (7) years following the completion of your matter. Where information collected by us is in relation to the making of a Will, we may be required to retain documents for a longer period of time.
How we collect your personal information
When you come to our website (www.ivylawgroup.com.au) we may collect certain information such as browser type, operating system, website visited immediately before coming to our site, etc. This information is used in an aggregated manner to analyse how people use our site, such that we can improve our service.
